Parceled constructions in the linguistic structure of “Intelligentsia and cruelty” by G. V. Pryakhin

For the first time, a semantic-functional and structural analysis of linguistic structure work G. V. Pryakhin, Russian journalist, writer, publisher, is undertaken. Pryakhin’s works are interesting not only for their problematics depiction contempo- rary reality but also originality organization, with story “Intelli- gentsia cruelty” taken as an example. A large number various subject-expressive forms syntax found to be used in one work. The focus on structural-semantic func- tional features parcelation, brightest syntactic tools which realize author’s artistic goals. allowed following conclusions made. First, both simple complex sentences prove parceled. Simple have main secondary members Parceled se- cond parts compound conjunctionless subordinates, subordinate sub- ordinates, complicated structures, thus creating wholes. Se- cond, parceled structures text under consideration contribute conveying lively speech touch informality, help narrator deliver emotions, create gradation, provide additional information about subject description, well perform expressive- characterological expressive-emphasizing functions. Also, they serve powerful tool drawing reader’s attention more meaningful manipulating consciousness.
